Disney's Magical Express was announced on December 29,
2004, and started service on May 5, 2005, transferring Walt
Disney World guests from the Orlando International Airport
to their Walt Disney World resort. The service is run my
Mears Transportation, though all to the casual eye, it
would appear as though it is operated by Disney.
Originally, Disney announced that the Magical Express would
be free for anyone staying on Walt Disney World property,
whether it was at a Disney resort or a Disney Vacation Club
property. On March 15, 2006, Walt Disney World and the
Orlando International Airport signed an agreement that
would allow the Magical Express to continue until 2011.
Walt Disney World has not yet announced whether the service
will remain free after 2006 yet, though all indications
lead one to believe that it will remain free for the
foreseeable future.
